The task was to design a family recipe book that would highlight the personal nature of passed-down recipes while offering a cohesive and visually engaging experience. The challenge was to create a book that felt intimate and handcrafted while ensuring readability and maintaining a consistent theme throughout. The target audience is home cooks and food lovers who value nostalgia and the joy of family cooking, seeking a warm, inviting book that celebrates these traditions.
Design Solution
The family recipe book combines hand-drawn illustrations of ingredients with handwritten-style recipes, creating a nostalgic and personal feel. Divided into sections by meal type—appetizers, entrees, and desserts— each layout is uniquely tailored to the content while maintaining a consistent theme of warmth and craftsmanship. The warm color palette and intimate typography reflect the joy of cooking and the importance of family traditions, blending creativity with clarity to offer a visually engaging, easy-to-read experience that highlights the personal stories behind each recipe.
